Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) comprising of political and non-political appointees from the Nasarawa North Senatorial District have endorsed Governor Abdullahi Sule to vie for the district’s senatorial seat come 2027.
In a communique read by Timothy Anjide, a former Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, during a zonal stakeholders meeting in Akwanga, said Governor Sule has raised the bar in governance through his infrastructural projects, prudent management of resources and leadership integrity which he had demonstrated in the past six years on the state’s helms of affairs, calling on him to accept the clarion calls.
“A unanimous vote of confidence was passed on His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, FNSE, with strong call and appeal to His Excellency to represent Nasarawa North in the Senate come 2027”.
“The stakeholders deeply appreciate His Excellency for his unwavering commitment to inclusive governance, impactful developmental strides and consistent support for the APC family in the district”.
The communique pledged stakeholders’ continued support aimed at uplifting communities and ensuring sustained development in the district.
On President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, the communique acknowledged the president’s gesture in the appointment of illustrious sons and daughters of the zone in strategic positions across federal boards, agencies, commissions and parastatals.
“In recognition of his vision, leadership and development focus, the stakeholders unanimously endorsed Mr. President for a second term in office”.
Speaking, Executive Chairman of Akwanga Local Government, Safiyanyu Isa Andaha, called for reconciliation, urging stakeholders to forgive one another in the interest of peace, progress and consolidation for greater gains to the zone.
Delivering keynote remarks, Commissioners for Works, Housing and Transport, Muazu Gosho, Water Resources and Rural Development, Mohammed Muluku commended Governor Sule, advocating for more responsibility to him beyond governorship, a move that propelled standing ovation to clarion calls for Sule’s endorsement contest for senate.
Also, the Director-General of the Nasarawa State Bureau for Pension Administration, Suleiman Musa Nagogo, member representing Wamba-Akwanga-Nasarawa Federal Constituency, Jeremiah Umaru and a former senator from the zone, John Danboyi, while praising President Tinubu and Governor Sule, sued for harmonious cohesion by all to move the zone forward, maintaining that the party should stand firmly to sustain gains beyond 2027.
The communique was endorsed with a resounding voice vote affirming the endorsement of the President to re-contest and Governor Sule to run for the Red Chamber.
Fierce tension brewed up at the meeting prompting the step-down of the suggestions for the endorsement of Jeremiah Umaru, arguing that it was not among the items outlined for endorsement.
