The Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic Lafia has been identified as the most media-friendly and effective academic institution in information management and communication in the state.
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Nasarawa State on Public Affairs, Hon. Peter Ahemba, stated this during a courtesy visit to the Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol of the institution, today.
Ahemba informed the Director that with his appointment by the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata, he has been able to find the lost glories of the institution, acknowledging that image-making is power.
He lauded the contributions of the present administration in the Polytechnic for working in conformity with the policies of the Governor Abdullahi Sule-led administration, insisting that the standard of education in Nasarawa State cannot be compromised.
He extolled the Director’s uncompromising competence, excellence and dedication to duty, describing him as a revered academic, veteran media consultant and eminent corporate administrator who has written his name in the sands of time.
On his part, the Director of Information, Public Relations and Protocol of the institution, Mukhtar Wakeel, told the Governor’s aide that his appointment was in recognition of his relentless professionalism with years of experience, expertise and exposure.
Wakeel said Dr. Maifata has proven his worth in uniting, securing and moving the Polytechnic forward, maintaining that the monumental impact has just begun.
He noted that IMAP is interested in becoming one of the five most competitive Polytechnics in the country in the next three years, resolving that foreign students will soon find IMAP as a destination of choice.
He added that the Polytechnic has state-of-the-art facilities for science and engineering studies, maintaining that HND in Mass Communication will commence soon with the resource assessment and accreditation of programmes being expected by the NBTE.
While appreciating Hon. Peter Ahemba for his visit, Mukhtar Wakeel insisted that the security, unity and prosperity of staff of the Polytechnic have been ensured by the Maifata rectory with no cause for compromise.
