Nasarawa State Commissioner for Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Aminu Muazu Maifata, on Saturday, gave out two of his daughters in marriage in an eventful ceremony.
The wedding Fatiha which took place at the Lafia Central Mosque was attended by distinguished dignitaries including Governor Abdullahi Sule who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe.
The daughters, Adama Aminu Maifata and Fatima Ilu Musa, became new brides after the payments of brideprice by their bridegrooms as confirmed by their Waali (representatives).
The acceptance of wedding vows by the brides’ representatives, Barr. Muhammad Ubandoma Aliyu and the Sangarin Awe, Alhaji Isa Abubakar, solidified the wedding in the presence of eminent traditional rulers and prominent political figures.
Speaking to Nasarawa Newsline after the wedding, a friend to the brides’ father, Mukhtar Wakeel called for unity and respect between the couple to achieve the aim of their matrimony.
Wakeel, a media entrepreneur, enjoined the newlyweds to see their wedding as a journey of love, patience and dedication, praying for successful union.
Praise-singers, well-wishers, friends and family members inspired the atmosphere with enthralling eulogies, pomp and pageantry.
Father of the brides, Maifata, served as a two-term Executive Chairman of Lafia Local Government and immediate past President of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON).
