As Nigeria commemorates this year’s Workers Day, the Acting Rector, Isa Mustapha Agwai l Polytechnic Lafia, Doctor Nurudeen Mu’azu Maifata has felicitated with the staff of the institution and others across the country, identifying the priceless role workers play in the development and survival of the nation.
Dr. Maifata saluted the courage, resilience, dedication and flexibility of the Nigerian workers, affirming to support the efforts of the staff of the Polytechnic to ensure that they are sufficiently rewarded for their invaluable services to the institution.
In a statement issued by Mukhtar Wakeel, Director of Public Relations and Protocol of the institution, added that the workers must continually put in their best, assuring them that their efforts would not go unrecognised.
He reiterated the Management’s desire to prioritise general welfare and security of its workforce, enjoining them to remain resolute and dedicated in carrying out their responsibilities.
“Our workers are our hard-earned resources and their well-being is an increasingly important priority to us. We will always stand by you. Ensure you are sufficiently taken care of for greater productivity and effectiveness in your workplace as we build a highly reputable institution that we have always envisioned”.
“I am concerned about you and confident about your efforts to make IMAP a place of choice as this year’s theme of the commemorative event reads “People First”.
He hailed Nigerian workers for staying positive and being partners in nation-building as well as contributing towards efforts to take the country to its deserved heights.
Dr. Maifata therefore solicited for continued support towards bringing the Polytechnic’s vision to fruition.
Workers’ Day also known as May Day is a national holiday commemorated annually on May 1 to celebrate Nigerian workers’ contributions to national development.
