Attorney-General of Nasarawa State and Commissioner of Justice, Barr. Isaac Danladi has been nominated for the prestigious Sportsville Special Recognition Award 2026.
The nomination was in acknowledgment of his remarkable contributions to sports development in Nigeria, particularly in football.
This was conveyed in a letter dated February 24 and signed on behalf of the Board of Directors of Sportsville Communication Services Ltd, organizers of the annual Sportsville Special Recognition Awards.
According to the organisers, the honour is reserved for distinguished personalities and institutions whose efforts have significantly advanced the growth, promotion, and sustainability of sports in Nigeria.
It stated that the nomination is “in recognition and acknowledgment of your contribution to sports development in Nigeria, especially in football where you have made a huge and indelible mark.”
Danladi’s nomination reflects his consistent support for sports initiatives, grassroots development, and institutional backing for football and other sporting activities, both within Nasarawa State and across the country.
The award presentation ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the prestigious Lagos Country Club, located in GRA Ikeja, Lagos.
Sportsville Special Recognition Awards, established in 2020, is an annual event aimed at celebrating individuals and organizations that have played pivotal roles in shaping Nigeria’s sports sector.
The initiative was introduced as part of activities marking the 20th anniversary of Sportsville as an independent sports television platform.
Over the years, the award has gained prominence as one of Nigeria’s respected sports honours, recognizing excellence, leadership, and enduring contributions to national sports development.
Danladi’s nomination is widely seen as a testament to his commitment to strengthening sports administration and supporting the advancement of football and youth engagement through sports.
He has been a sports administrators and entrepreneur for over a two decades.
Danladi was one-time Chairman of the Nasarawa United Football Club and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development in Nasarawa State before his appointment as a Commissioner by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
