Police in Nasarawa State have apprehended a woman identified as Khadija Aliyu for stealing a seven-day-old baby in Keffi Local Government while naming ceremony was ongoing.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Ramhan Nansel, in Lafia, added that the suspect sneaked into the house behind INEC Office and stole the baby while she was asleep.
Nansel, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the suspect covered the child with her veil and ran away before she was arrested by the operatives of the Keffi Division of the Command.
In the same vein, the police also arrested one Hussaini Mohammed, an ex-convict, for motorcycle theft with three motorcycles recovered from him.
The statement further said that Umar Shehu Nadada, Police Commissioner in the State, urged the public to come forward with proof of ownership of the motorcycles to claim them.
