Nasarawa State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of Enoch Ali Maku, a retired Director of Information and Protocol with the Nasarawa State Judiciary and three others.

Maku, now a Senior Special Assistant to the Chief Judge on Information and Protocol, was reported to have been kidnapped around Agyaragu, an outskirt of Lafia Local Government, in the late hours of Wednesday.

Confirming the incident today, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Ramhan Nansel, authoritatively informed Nasarawa Newsline that the police had swung into action and two persons were released following a fierce encounter with the abductors.

Nansel, a Superintendent of Police, said investigations are still ongoing to trace the whereabouts of the kidnapped victims and their abductors.

He called for calm, noting that the police are working relentlessly to have them released unhurt and their abductors arrested.

The PPRO vowed that the police would bring the perpetrators of the heinous crime to justice.

It was revealed that the community was thrown into pandemonium following the kidnap incident.

However, a youth leader from the community (name withheld) said no lives were lost in the incident.
