Working in line with this provision, a philanthropic organization in Nasarawa State, DFS Foundation, which is dedicated to improving the quality of lives of Nasarawa citizens across all areas of human needs particularly in education, healthcare and economic empowerment, unveiled a scholarship scheme for indigent students of tertiary institutions in the state with a compelling desire to achieve the goal of quality education for all.
This education investment by the DFS Foundation is coming at a time when it is most sought-after by the masses to take care of their educational needs in a nail-biting moment.
Quite different from others, the DFS Foundation’s scholarship scheme is anchored on deepening the quality of education in the state regardless of social identity or political inclination of the applicant. It is always awarded through a painstaking assessment of the criteria which is completely in line with national scholarship award guidelines.
Selection is basically meticulous and highly meritorious as Nasarawa indigent indigenes schooling across tertiary institutions of learning eligible for the scholarship grants seized DFS Foundation’s ambitious opportunity to earn and to impact as young people across the state without undergoing discriminatory tactics, oppression or tearing subjugation under any guise.

As the successful applicants received their award of the scholarship grants, it affirms that this is a testament of equitable disbursement free from politics and socially-constraining principles.

The DFS/Phoenix University Scholarship
The DFS Foundation, this time, has announced the commencement of registration for fully funded scholarship for Nasarawa indigenes into Phoenix University, Agwada, Nasarawa State.
The scholarship which is for the 2025/2026 academic session called on interested applicants to strictly follow the requirements for successful applications.
It said the portal www.drsfoundation.org is now open for online applications which closes in a two weeks’ time.
Female applicants, people living with disability would be considered, urging interested persons to possess a minimum of 150 in UTME and lower credit in ND/HND for Direct Entry (DE) applications.
The Foundation noted that the scholarship would expand educational opportunities for next generation of youths and scholars, noting that all applications would be given due recognition.
DFS Foundation had, in April this year, disbursed bursary awards to 1000 students in Nasarawa State across all courses.
Speaking during the disbursement in Lafia, Chairman/Founder of the Foundation, Dr. Faisal Shuaib said “the initiative reflects the commitment of the foundation to the educational development and welfare of Nasarawa students”.
The multi-million Naira disbursement’s selection process was thorough, meticulous and highly meritorious, according to the founder, Dr. Shuaib.
