Nasarawa State Chapter of the Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) has commended President Bola Tinubu for assenting to the bill for the establishment of the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC).

YOWICAN expressed deep elation with the presidential assent, stressing that it would hasten the achievement of the people’s yearnings and aspirations in critical development sectors.

Dr. Attah Abashi, Chairman of YOWICAN in the state, made the commendation known in a statement he personally signed and made available to Nasarawa Newsline in Lafia, Friday.

He congratulated Governor Abdullahi Sule and the member representing Wamba/Akwanga/NasarawaEggon Federal Constituency, Dr. Jeremiah Umaru for sponsoring the bill establishing the North-Central Development Commission.

He called for the inclusion of young people in the smooth implementation process of the newly established commission, adding that their wealth of experience will drive speedy delivery of development initiatives.

The statement emphasized that siting the headquarters in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, is an affirmation of Lafia’s strategic position in the region, hailing the President, Governor and Reps Member for their conscious efforts.

Recall that the bill was sponsored at the Lower Chamber by Rep. Jeremiah Umaru and at the Red Chamber by Sen. Abba Moro of Benue South in the 10th Assembly, believing that it would address challenges of infrastructure deficit and engender development.
