NIPR Appoints Lamai To Co-Chair 2026 World Public Relations Forum

Yakubu Lamai, Director-General, Strategic Communications and Events Management to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has been appointed by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) as Co-Chairman/Spokesperson of 2026 World Public Relations Forum.

The WPRF 2026 will be hosted in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.

Lamai is to co-chair the Contents Development and Events Work Team. He is equally to serve as the spokesperson of the National Planning Committee (NPC) for the 3-in-1 hosting of the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management and African Public Relations Association (APRA) Conference.

Lamai is a distinguished broadcaster, foremost thespian, renowned PR consultant and ace public affairs commentator.

Presenting the letter to Governor Abdullahi Sule, the Vice President of the Institute, Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, lauded the appointee’s professionalism in PR practice which has made him best-suited for the important assignment.

Nasarawa Newsline reports that the WPRF 2026 will serve as a global platform to showcase Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, thriving communication industry, and innovative approaches to public relations.

The Forum is expected to foster knowledge-sharing, professional collaboration, and meaningful dialogue on the future of PR and communication worldwide.

Recently, NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku had told newsmen that the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), working with the support of leading Public Relations stakeholders in Africa, was determined to host the best, biggest, and brightest World Pubilc Relations Forum, ever held.
