Governor Abdullahi Sule has vowed to hand over the state to a credible candidate who will surpass his government’s records while power.

Sule said he is interested in bringing in a more competent, credible and reliable governor from the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging members of the party to unite and work harmoniously for the success of the ruling APC in the forthcoming elections.

He stated this at a stakeholders meeting of the party on Tuesday in Lafia.

The meeting brought together prominent politicians under the APC, including former governor, Tanko Al-Makura, top gubernatorial aspirants of the party, state and National Assembly members, LGA chairmen, among others.

While speaking on the recent solidarity rally in honour of President Bola Tinubu, he commended the commitment of the stakeholders to have unanimously supported the gathering to appreciate Tinubu’s gesture to the state.

Sule urged the party loyalists to be guided by the consensus mode of the about-to-hold LGA and state congresses of the APC, reminding them that he only has interest in bringing in people who will make the party and state better.

According to him, the mode of the party congress adopted was what he also inherited from his predecessor, adding that everyone should be carried along in the process.

Sule warned politicians in the state to steer away from causing political tensions for selfish reasons, stressing that no one has monopoly of ruthlessness and violence.

In his remarks, Sen. Tanko Al-Makura called on party members to desist from causing problems within the party hierarchy, affirming that his relationship with Governor Sule is intact against public speculations.

In his opening address, State APC Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello said the party is willing to hold an acceptable congress across the state, lauding Governor Sule for his determination to responsible leadership.
