Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Nasarawa State Command, have apprehended six kidnap suspects from their hideout in Lafia, the state capital.

The operation, which led to the successful arrest of the suspects in Angara and Fadaman Bauna villages, was in collaboration with local security operatives.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, a Superintendent of Police, made available to Nasarawa Newsline on Friday, stated that kidnap victims were also rescued, promptly treated and reunited with their families.

Nansel said Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Shettima Jauro Mohammed, had ordered a manhunt following a tip-off on the kidnap incidents, which culminated in the arrest of the suspects.

“The suspects have confessed to the commission of the crime and have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) on the directive of the Commissioner of Police for thorough investigation and prosecution.”

“The Commissioner of Police has further assured the good people of Nasarawa State of the Command’s sustained onslaught against all forms of criminality across the state.” The statement added.
