Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule has officially unveiled the 2024 Governor’s Cup.
In an address at the unveiling ceremony, Governor Sule eulogized the commitment and initiative of Salisu Usman Galadima led-State Football Association for creating an atmosphere that is aimed at promoting talent among young persons across the State.
In a press statement signed by the Governor’s Personal Assistant on Broadcast Media, Mu’azu Madaki, the Governor used the occasion to reassure the commitment of his administration towards promoting football, expressing confidence in the ability of the Nasarawa United FC to win the Continental Cup.
“Today in Nasarawa State, we are going to come with an event that will bring out some of the best talents that we have in succour. One that always excite me is that we are trying as much as possible to bring talents from within us to help them become who they are within and even outside Nigeria”.
Earlier, the State Chairman of Football Association, Salisu Usman Galadima informed Governor Sule that the event was organised with a view to discovering hidden potentials across the 13 LGAs of the State.
Galadima appreciated the Governor for his relentless support to the State Football Association, assuring the Governor, that the State Football Governing body will continue to reciprocate the kind gesture.
The event which took place at the Conference Hall of the Government House Thursday, had in attendance the State Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe and commissioners for Youth and Sports Development, Environment, Special Duties on Non-governmental Organizations, Justice, Information, the State Vice Chairman, Ibrahim Adamu Shigafarta and other officials in attendance.
