In a move to decentralise governance to the grassroots, Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, on Monday, charged eighteen newly sworn-in administrative area administrators to live above board by being prudent and dedicated in discharging their functions.
Sule stated this during the official swearing-in ceremony of the council administrators and a lone special adviser in Lafia, Monday.
The governor enjoined the new appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them, as according to him, his government will not condone acts of truancy, irresponsibility and breach of public trust.
He admonished them to synergize with their various local government area chairmen for efficient service delivery to the locals.
Sule reiterated his government’s commitment to bringing people, particularly the grassroots, closer to government, hence the upgrade of development areas to area administrative councils recently by the legislature.
In a vote of thanks, Yusuf Loko, the newly sworn-in special adviser to the governor on intergovernmental affairs, appreciated the governor for finding them worthy of the appointments and promised to justify the confidence reposed in them.
