Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has reappointed Ayuba Usman Wandai as the Chairman of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC) for a second term of five years.
In a letter sent to the Nasarawa State House of Assembly by the Governor and read during plenary on Monday, the Speaker, Danladi Jatau said that the reappointment of Wandai was in line with the powers conferred on the Governor by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The letter reads in parts “With the powers conferred on me by the Constitution, I, Engr. Abdullahi Sule appoint Barr. Ayuba Wandai Usman as Chairman, Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC)”
Wandai is expected to appear before the legislature on Tuesday, 9th September for screening and subsequent confirmation.
His appointment follows the successes recorded in the Commission during his first term in office.
