President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the multi-billion naira Lafia flyover and underpass, state-of-the-art Nasarawa State Secretariat built under the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule and agricultural equipment and empowerment programme.
President Tinubu said the laudable achievements underscored the significance that the Sule-led government attached to infrastructural renaissance of the North-Central state.
He made this known during the commissioning of some key projects in the state capital, Wednesday.
He commended Governor Sule’s “hard work and dedication to ensure the economic stability of the state”.
He emphasized that the initiative by the state government is in line with the Tinubu-led Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda of agricultural mechanization, adding that his leadership would invest more in supporting sub-national governments to create opportunities for infrastructural growth and economic development.
On the political maneuverings across the nation, the President said he was unperturbed by the emerging political coalition, describing the champions as “political IDPs”.
In his remarks, Governor Abdullahi Sule solicited for the Tinubu-led government’s support on the onshore operations for the exploration, production and refining of the over 1 billion hydrocarbon resources of the Ebenyi oil wells in the state.
Governor Sule, while appreciating President Tinubu, said the subsidy removal policy of the government is instrumental to the landmark development under his leadership.
According to him, the Lafia flyover and underpass are currently being replicated in Akwanga and Keffi local government areas, announcing the naming of the Lafia flyover and underpass as “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Interchange”.
Our correspondent reports that the President also commissioned the 4.5km Shendam Road and the distribution of operational vehicles to security agencies and MDAs.
President Tinubu, who landed at the Usman Danfodio Airport in Lafia at 01:34 noon, also paid royal homage to the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage I rtd and other traditional rulers in the state.
