As the world celebrates this year’s International Youth Day, the Nasarawa State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has urged youths in the state to continue to be supportive, responsible by respecting constituted authorities and shunning any acts of criminality for the sustenance of peace and development in the state.
State Chairman of the youth organisation, Comrade Ja’afar Muhammad Loko, made the assertion in a press statement to mark this year’s International Youth Day, Monday.
Loko said on the occasion of the global event and beyond, youth should continue to exercise restraint despite the difficulty being experienced in the country by expressing their displeasure with decorum.
On the 2024 International Youth Day, the Nasarawa State NYCN leader, maintained that various activities had been outlined to commemorate the event, commending government and the youths for impacting positively in reshaping the fortunes of the state for common good.
He appealed to well-meaning Nigerians at all levels to contribute meaningfully by intensifying efforts in digital skills for sustainable development, appreciating Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for his relentless support in driving youth development in the state.
He assured young persons of NYCN’s commitment to addressing their plights, noting that initiatives are on top gear to provide opportunity in the use of technology and digital platforms like Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Theme for this year’s commemorative anniversary of the International Youth Day is; From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.
